Elsie Outer Cigar Label, 4 1/2" x 4 1/2", Henry B Grauley, 1930's Adorable Elsie in the middle of a bluebird nest. No expense was spared on designing and creating cigar labels in the late 19th and early 20th Century as Tobacco Companies tried to each outdo the other and grab your attention. They did such a wonderful job as these images have held our attention for up to 100 years and more! Lithography had a huge influence on Advertising in the early 1900's because of the creativity and freedom it awarded. Famous artists from all over the globe were commissioned to do these great works for early companies of all kinds, big and small.
